Welcome
I have been in education over twenty-five years. I was student teaching when Bill Clinton was inaugurated the first time and Maya Angelou read her poem. My students had to scurry around for ways to type their research paper. Google wasn't invented it and the only Internet in a home was dial-up. Times have change but unfortunately most teachers haven't change their methods. The majority of the time we feel as if the learning did not occur in front of us or the students didn't turn in something of substance, ie. paper, then learning didn't take place. My name is Glenn Shelton and I have been a Instructional Technology Specialist for the past four years. Before that, I was a high school English teacher for over fifteen years. I have seen the advancement of technology and its effects in the classroom.
My goal with this blog is to keep readers updated with recent advancements in using technology in education. I will also begin to coordinate different resources, gather from others or create myself, as I see teachers need or request them.
Basically I want to give teachers the tools and confidence to blow out the four walls of their classroom so students are able to learn all the time.
